Join Sharon Wright, author of Mother of the Brontës: The Life of Maria Branwell, for a fascinating glimpse into Georgian society and the hidden family history of the famous Brontë sisters, followed by a delicious afternoon tea.
Who was the mysterious Mrs Brontë? And why was she forgotten for 200 years?
Maria Branwell was the mother of Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontë, authors of masterpieces such as Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall. Over afternoon tea discover how Sharon turned history sleuth to unearth the extraordinary, forgotten story of the Cornish gentlewoman, Regency lady of letters and saucy lover who gave us the Brontë sisters.
